Currently, the cohort program is conducted only in English.
Is it the right fit for you? Because the live teachings, community discussions, and breakout rooms are conducted in English, the cohort may not be the best fit for those who are not yet conversationally comfortable in the language.
Other ways to practice in your language: We want everyone to be able to access these teachings! If you are looking for JOL programs in other languages, we recommend the following:
Tergar Events Website: Check events.tergar.org for Joy of Living retreats or workshops that are offered online or in-person in your native language or specific region of the world.
Language Sub-groups: Within our cohort WhatsApp communities, participants often form smaller sub-groups for specific languages. This can be a great way to discuss the weekly materials with others in your own language.
Tools for English Learners: If you are comfortable with English but find the speed of live conversation challenging, we offer these supports:
Closed Captions: We do not offer translated subtitles during live sessions, but we do provide English Closed Captions. Many participants find that following the written text makes it much easier to keep up with the teachings.
Adjustable Recording Speed: While we don't have translations for the session recordings, you can use the video player settings to slow down the playback speed, which can help you better understand the English delivery at your own pace.
