I'd be happy to help you with that. The good news is that you really don't have to be too tech-savvy to be in the cohort. Here is the run-down on the various bits you'll want to have access to:
- Joy of Living Online website
- Make sure that you go to joy.tergar.org and log into your account. Make sure you see "Level x Cohort 202x" on the right-hand menu when you're logged in. Go to that page for access to join the live sessions and watch the session recordings. See the attached image so you can see the buttons I'm referring to.
- Zoom
- The weekly live sessions are hosted through Zoom. You'll want to make sure that you have an updated version of Zoom on your computer/phone/wherever you plan to watch. It doesn't cost anything.
- You can test if your Zoom is working by clicking "Join the Session" on this cohort page at any time. If a Zoom meeting pops up, congratulations, it works just fine!
- You don't strictly speaking have to have your camera going for the live sessions, but it does help the guides and fellow participants to make connections.
- WhatsApp
- WhatsApp is an international free real-time messaging app that we use for the cohorts to create an additional sense of community. If you want to participate, you can engage with your fellow cohort members in real-time to exchange ideas, support each other, and generally enrich the sense of community. Scan the QR code in the attached image to join the community for your specific cohort.
- Live Session Process
- The session starts with a check in (10 min)
- Then a brief teaching around that week's theme (15min)
- Then a guided practice (10min)
- Then breakout room discussions of 3-5 people (15min)
- Then large group discussions about those small group discussions (10min)
- Then Q&A (remainder)
I hope I've answered all your questions! If not, just reply back and I'll do my best to help.
